Kaishu Katsu, The Hero in the End of Edo Period

Ichikawa City might be the popular tourist resort in
Edo period, so many people living in
Edo could come, and so many famous people in Japanese history would come,
too.
A few noted spots connecting with
Kaishu Katsu, a popular politician from late Edo period to Meiji Era, are in Gyotoku
and Yawata in Ichikawa city. A frame with letters written by Kaishu Katsu
is hanged on the main hall of Shirahata Tenjinsha Shrine in Yawata. And
a tanka poem inscribed on the stone tablet standing at a tomb for a lady
worked at his house is in Jishoin Temple in Gyotoku. Moreover, there are
no records what he had said about building the Diet, nobody knows that
it is true or not, there exists a rumor that Kaishu Katsu would plan to
build the Diet Building in Konodai Ichikawa.
Kaishu Katsu should take a boat on at Nihonbashi, and the boat could pass through Onagigawa then Shinkawa river and it could go up Edogawa river, then he would land at Shingashi in Gyotoku and walk down Gyotoku Kaido Highway to Jishoin Temple. In addition, he might see the cliff covered with deep green at Konodai from the boat.
