Funabashi City / The Short Summary Of Funabashi-shi
Funabashi city is the second largest city in
Chiba prefecture located on the middle of the Narita International Airport and Tokyo Station.
It takes about 45 minutes from the Narita International Airport by Keisei
Line, and it takes only 25 minutes from Tokyo Station by Sobu Line of JR
East, then 1/3 of people work at the business area in
Tokyo. The city is easy to live, so the population of Funabashi City is over
600 thousands people.
The name of the city 'Funabashi' is named after the legend that The twelfth
Emperor Keiko and his son the Prince Yamatotakeru, one of the most famous
and popular hero in history built a bridge across the Ebi-gawa river on
their way of the Eastern Expansion, especially the style of the bridge
that was built with wooden road set on many boats lined on the river is
called funabashi in Japan. The birdge is called 'Hashi' and a boat is 'Fune',
then the bridge made by boats is called 'Funabashi'. The name 'Funabashi
' first appeared on Azumakagami, the book records the history of Kamakura
Bakufu, so it mghit be called Funabashi in kamakura period. It developped
a post station town on Chiba Kaido road to Narita Shinshoji Temple.
Carrots and Pears are famous agricultural products, and also sanbanse nori
is famous products of its fishing industry. Moreover Funabashi takes the
largest amount of Japanese sea basses in Japan, so the city is located
on the first depth of Tokyo Bay, 'Sanbanse' is very famous for preserving
winter places for the waterflows. It has many natural products from the
sea and the earth, and it is in the Tokyo metoropolitan areas. Therefore
Funabashi city is very easy to live.
