A Walk Around Tekona And Mamasan Temple
Ichikawa City has very long history, it started the period of editing Manyoshu (Collection for a Myriad Ages). Ichikawa is on the southern tip of Shimousa Plateau, the Provincial Government of Shimousa Province in the classic Japan was built at Konodai behind the Mamasan Temple and Shimousa Kokubunji Temple was also built near it. Akahito Yamabe, a renga poet Socho, Issa Kobayashi, Mitsukuni Tokugawa (Mito Komon), Hakushu Kitahara, Kafu Nagai and so many people have visited since the Myriad Ages.
Monument and Shrine of Tekona has a legend of a beautiful girl Tekona, so many poets has written about it for thousands years. Mamasan Guhoji Temple has long history, and it was famous for the popular site to enjoy viewing sakura trees in spring and colored leaves in fall since Edo Period. Kamein Temple Hakusu Kitahara once lived. Guo Moruo Memorial Park has a beautiful garden filled with thousands of moss phloxes like a pink carpet. A Path Of Literature Sakura Dote Park and beautiful gardens with seasonal flowers in Yoshizawa Garden Gallery and Suwada Park.
