The Great Views of Cherry Blossoms in Mamasan Guhoji Temple
Mamasan Guhoji Temple is an old temple in Mama Ichikawa City has described by Hiroshige in his picture 'Meishi Edo Hyakkei (the 100 great sights in Edo) and in Edo Meisho Zue (a guide book describing Edo), and they introduced that it had been the
popular viewing colored leaves spots in Edo. However, it is a very famous
viewing cherry blossom spot, so it has a large 400 year old weeping cherry
tree named Fushihime Sakura and many cherry trees are planted in it, and
thousands of poeple visit the temple to enjoy seeing the cherry blossoms
in every spring. Moreover, Mamasan is changed it color in pale pink in
spring with full bloomed cherry blossoms. You could see it on the Sobu
Line train and from the Observatory on the I-link Town Ichikawa.

Spring in Mamasan Guhoji Temple is symply tramatic wtih fully blooming
Fushihime Sakura. This large 400 year old weeping cherry tree is extremly beautiful that Mito Komon is said to admire it. Every spring, thousands of people visit to seeing Fushime Sakura. However, it is little difficult to see fully bloomed Fushihime Sakura with other cherry blossoms simultaneously since it blooms a few days earlier than others, so there are a deeper color weeping cherry tree on the east and several large Somei Yoshino cherry trees in the north. So the thousands of visitors are impressed while seeing Sakuras in the eastern part of Mamasan Guhoji Temple.
In the western part of Mamasan Guhoji Temple, there is the Daikokudo Hall
dedicating statue of Tachi Daikokuten carved by the Founder Nichiren. And a weeping cherry tree is planted beside the hall. In spring, the
tree blooms beautiful white cherry blossoms and they look like white snows
falling down.
Cherry Trees around the Niomon Gate of Guhoji Temple
On the right of the stone steps in front of the Niomon Gate of Mamasan
Guhoji Temple, on the left of the gate and on the right of the bell tower,
there are several cherry trees. Visitors could find cherry blossoms when
they go ut the steps. The end of the steps, they could see beautiful pale
pink woods on their left. And the visitors go into the path in front of
the bell tower, they could see the panoramic views of Ichikawa city on
the cliff surrounded by cherry trees.
In the south of Mamasan Guhoji Temple, there is a small temple called
Tekona Reishindo Hall that dedicates a beauty described in Manyoshu (the Myriad of Leaves). Many red frags symbolicly stands along the approach
road and some cherry trees bloom beautifully in the temple.
