Chokeisan Zenkeiji Temple in Koiwa
Chokeisan Zenkeiji Temple is a Buddhism temple belonging to
Nichiren Sect standing in the quiet residential area near shopping areas around Keisai
Koiwa Station. According to Shinpen Musashi Fudokiko (a geographic book
describing
Musashi Province in
Edo period), it was one of the blanch temples of
Nakayama Hokekyoji Temple and it dedicated Sanpo Soshizo (the statue of
the founder Nichiren) as the principle image of the temple. On a stone tablet beside the main
gate of it, there are some letters that tells that it dedicates a statue
of
Kishimojin carved by
the venerable Nichijo, the first abbot of Nakayama Hokekyoji Temple. Moreover, there is a big statue of the founder Nichiren standing on the end of the approach road covered with some green pine trees. This sculpture looks very powerful! Why don't you visit Chokeisan Zenkeiji Temple?
