Hojunsan Shosanji Temple in Gyotoku
Hojunsan Shosanji Temple is a branch temple of
Mamasan Guhoji Temple in Mama
Ichikawa-shi and its principle image is the statue of Shaka Nyorai. The sango title
is Hojunsan. The small stone statue of Buddha in front of the main hall
has a legend that it was found by an oracle of a big snake so it was dug
out of the ground. The main hall and the stone statue look kawaii and they
would set visitors' mind at ease.

The History of Hojunsan Shosanji Temple
Hojunsan Shosanji Temple was built in 1575 by the venerable Kazoin Nichijo
as a branch temple of Mamasan Gohoji Temple, the head temple of Nichiren
Sect. The main hall was rebuilt in 1971.

- Shosanji Temple has a great accessibility from both Narita and Haneda International Airport.
- From Narita International Airport, take JR Sobu-express line, transfer the line at Nishi-funabashi to Tozai line of Tokyo Metro bound to Nakano or Mitaka, get off Myoden Sta. And also take Keisei-line, transfer the line at Funabashi to Sobu-Local line, and transfer the line at Nishi-funabashi to Tozai line of Tokyo Metro bound to Nakano or Mitaka, get off Myoden Sta. It takes minimally 60 minutes from Narita Airport.
- From Haneda International Airport, take Keikyu-line bound to Narita, transfer the line at Nihonbashi to Tozai line of Tokyo Metro bound to Nishifunabashi, Tsudanuma or Katsutadai, get off Myoden Sta.
