Let's Go To See Colored Leaves In Edogawa By Bicycle!
Autumn is the best season for seeing colored leaves. Late October, many
leaves gradually change from green to yellow. Maple trees, gingko trees
and red woods are very beautiful in fall. In this page, an idea of a recommended
route for riding your bicycle to visit some spots in
Edogawaku to see autumn views of colored leaves on woods under clear blue sky is
introduced. Edogawaku is a city laid on the east end of Tokyo, it is usually
called 'bed town of Tokyo'. But it has some exciting spots to see the autumn
views. Actually, you could visit them on foot, but you might visit one
or two spots a day, therefore, bicycle could be recommended. The total
distance of this route is about 20 kilometers long, it is good for you
to ride in one day. In addition, Edogawaku is flat, it means that it has
no mountains and hills in it. But only there are some slopes before banks
of rivers and bridges connecting to them. You could easily ride on your
mama-chari (city bike) to complete the route.

This order of visiting these spots is only my idea. I think that it is
reasonable to visit all these spots in a day. The views have very different
colors in between morning and afternoon, then you could enjoy visiting
them in opposite.
Now this trip starts from
Shinozaki Park that has one of the most exciting autumn views in Edogwaku.
The autumn views in Shinozaki Park begin from zelkova trees, then leaves
on maple, gingko and redwoods gradually change their colors green to yellow
or red. You could enjoy different views whenever you visit.
Anyway, you could start from the north end of the B Block of Shinozaki
Park. There is a cross on Shibamata Kaido Avenue, you go across the avenue
at Shishibone 2 traffic signal.
You go to the west several minutes, you find Oosugibashi Bridege before. There are lined American sweetgum trees with flash red leaves both side of the road.
You climbed up the bridge and turn to the left at the east bank of Shinnakagawa
River and you go down the bank and go on the road along the bank. You find
red leaves in front of you. It is a Japanese wax tree.
And you could see
Setoguchi Park behind the wax tree.
Setoguchi Park is not a big park, but it has beautiful wisteria blossoms
blooming in late spring and a small mountain covered with hundreds of trees
in it, of course the autumn views in it are very beautiful, so visitors
could enjoy natuer in this small kid's park.
After Setoguchi Park, you go down along the river again, and you climb
up a slope to the bank and go down a slope to pass through Ichinoebashi
Bride. After passing through the bridge, you climb up the bank and go down
to the road along the river again. You find red and yellow leaves on some
trees before. They are in
Tsubaki Daini Jidokoen Park.
Tubaki Daini Jidokoen Park is opened under the bank of Shinnakagawa. It
is a small kid's park, but the views from the park connecting with the
green on the bank, so the views from feel very wide.
Now you go out of the park from a gate in opposite side of the bank. You
turn to the right, then you turn to the left. You find a green woods in
front of you. It is
Ichinoe Nanushi Residence. It has many kinds of beautiful trees in its garden.
Now you turn the right at the gate of the residence and turn to the left
at the road under the highway. You turn to the right at the next traffic
signal and pass through the highway and go straight the road. You could
see a Niomon Gate of
Daiunji Temple or everybody calls Yakushadera on your left. There are many maple trees in the temple, their leaves dramatically
changed their colors in fall.
After Yakushadere, you go back the road and turn to the left at the traffic
signal under the highway, and you go across Tsubaki Minami bashi Bridge.
And you go across Kannana Dori Avenue. Now you find a big blue signboard
of
Ichinoe Sakaigawa Water Park on your left (picture below). You could see some maple trees in the park.

in fall.
You go along a stream in Ichinoe Sakaigawa Water Park, you find a Hachiman
Jinja Shrine on your left and

You could see some red leaves of maple and wax trees after the first traffic
signal on the park. And you could see a big tiled roof behind the stream,
it is
Choshoji Temple. It has a beautiful trimmed maple tree like a big bonsai tree in its garden.
Anyway, continuing to go along the stream, you enjoy seeing beautiful autumn
maple leaves along it and you pass a few traffic signals on it, and you

You go on the outskirt of Ukita Chuo Park, so you turn to the right at
the south west corner of the park. You go straight the road, you find
Ukita Park and
Gyosen Park in front of you.
Gyosen Park is one of the best spots for seeing Autumn leaves in Edogawaku. If you walk in the park in fall, you forget that time is going on.
Now you go north on the approach road surrounding maple trees covered with
red leaves lined on both sides of it, you could see a ground of Ukita Park,
then you turn to the left, and next turn to the right at the south west
corner of the ground. You go straight the small path in the park. Soon
after you go out of the park, you find

The park is opened in between this narrow road and Funabori Kaido Avenue.
There are several gingko trees and maple trees in the park, their leaves
change their colors in Fall. You go out of the park at Funabori Kaido Avenue,
and you turn to the right, you go north on the avenue. You pass Funabori
Station and you go across Shinohashi-dori Avenue, you find a signboard
of Funabori Green Road (the picture below). You go on the road, but you
ride your bicycle carefully since it is a pedestrian road. If you have
enough time, you shall get off your bicycle and push it.
The road is very beautiful in fall, so it was selected as one of the best
100 beautiful views in Edogawaku. You could enjoy seeing the view while
you are walking on. Finally, the green road is end, and you go on the road,

it. After Eifukuji, you go to the north along the water park. Komatsugawa
