Roses bloom in both May in Summer and October in Fall. In this page, a route
to go some spots with beautiful roses blooming in fall in
Ichikawashi,
Edogawaku and
Katsushikaku is introduced. It is an idea rather than an introduction. Moreover, it is actually fall, some noted spots viewing for colored leaves near the rose garden will be introduced in this page togather. There are several beautiful rose gardens in those 3 cities, the distance to go to all the spots is about 50 kilometers long, it is so large areas that you can hardly go to them in one day. Then, there are two routes to go them; one is One Day Trip and another one is Two Days Trip. It is good idea that you go on One Day Trip first to see how many roses bloom in them, then you go them to enjoy seeing roses leisurely. Anyway, there are some hill roads in northern Ichikawa City, therefore, it is good for you to ride an electrically assisted bicycle to go on the route.

The order of these lists are only my ideas since I live in Nakayama area. Therefore, it is free for you where you start. Please keep road etiquette and your health while going on cycling.
Now, this website is 'A Walk In Nakayama Shimousa', so it starts from the
rose garden in
Ichikawashi Higashiyama Kaii Memorial Hall since the museum is near
Nakayama Hokekyoji Temple.
Moreover, the museum is closed in Monday. First, you turn to the right at the road in front of the parking space of it and go on Kioroshi Kaido Highway to the north, and you turn to the left a traffic signal next to a fire department, then, turn to the right soon and go on the road a few minutes. When you find a statue of Buddha called 'Kitakata Kannon', you pass it and go on straight.
About 5 minutes later, you could find a green zone with ponds named
Oogashiwagawa Daiichi Chosei Ryokuchi and Swimming Pools for Citizens on your left. You turn to the left and go on a path running in front of the pools and you turn to the right at a path along
Oogashiwagawa River. But you don't mind if you miss the turning point. You go on the road
until you find a cross at a two-lanes road. You turn to the left and go
on the road, you could reach at Oogashiwagawa River. And if you cross the
two-lanes road and you find a temple named
Myoshoji on the left, and you turn to the left at a traffic signal on the end of
the temple parking. Soon after turning, you find a path built on an underdrain
with a signboard (in a picture below) .
Go down the path, you reach at the gate of the high school, then you turn
to the right and go on the road along the school, finally you find Oogashiwagawa
River. Go along the river and pass through an elevated railroad of Musashino
Line. Please take care of your bicycle since there are some small bumps
on the road along it. Moreover, there are many cosmoses bloom along Oogashiwagawa
River.
On your way to go, the road leaves a two-lanes road running opposite side
of the river and you change the road to the two-lanes road when the meets
again. After a few minutes, you find a signboard of Ichikawa Oono Highschool
(Ichikawa Oono Kotogakuen), and you turn to the left and go an alley running
along the school until a T-junction.
Turning to the right at the junction and go up to the slope, you find two stone tablets in front of you, then you turn to the right.
Then, you go down a two-lanes slope road and you turn to the left at the second signal and climb up the road, you find a signboard of 'Ichikawashi Doshokubutuen (Ichikawashi Zoo and Botanical Gareden)' over the road.
It is Omachi Recreation Zone. The rose garden is in it, so it is in an area called
Omachi Nature Observation Garden. It is the largest rose garden in the Ichikawa City.
Over 2200 roses are planted in the garden. Please enjoy seeing the roses enough. And if you visit it in late November, a hill covered with shiningly colored maple trees, shall open.
After seeing roses in Omachi Nature Obseervation Garden, you continue going
on the road, and you turn to the left at a cross and go on a road called
Oomachi Nashi Kaidoroad where many pear (Nashi) farmers open their shop along the road.
If you want some, you buy and put them in a front basket of your bicycle. On your way to the next garden, you see some signboards '
Matsudo City', 'Matsudonashi (the pears of Matsudo City) and so on. Then you find 'Akiyamaeki (Akiyama Sta) on your left, you turn to the left and you turn right at the next T-shaped junction.
Before the elevated railroad of Hokuso Tetsudo, you find 'Akiyama' traffic
signa, and you go into the short slope road on the left.
Then you reach at a T-shaped junction, and turn to the left at it, so you find a school named Seitoku Gakuen. You go into the road in between the school ground and the buildings. There are bus stops along the roads. You go straight it and you turn to the left at the next T-shaped junction. You go on the road for a few minutes, you find a highway and 'Nakakokubun Eemn Sch.' traffic signal.
You go across the signal and go along the skirt of the school site, so
you turn to the right then next turn to the left. You find Konodai Driving
School on your right and Chiba University of Commerce High School on your

Junsaiike Green Zone on the left, it is one of the most popular viewing spots of colored leaves
in Ichikawa City. You go up the slope road, then turn to the left, you

There is a small hat named '

After Satomi Park, you go back to the signal, and turn to the right, you
find a signal on the next to a fire department. You go into Konodai Sports

You find Chiba University of Commerce on your right and tennis courts on your left. The end of the road, you turn to the right and turn to the left at the third corner, then go down the road and turn to the right soon, next you turn to the left at the third corner. You go straight and you find
Yoshizawa Garden Gallry on your left. And you turn to the right and soon turn to the left, then
you find
Suwada Park on the top of the slope road.
Suwada Park's rose garden is not so large, but the roses are very close, so visitors are surrounded by the blossoms, they are full of the small garden.
Now, you turn back to the slope road, you go down it and turn to the left,
you go across
Mamagawa River and Keisei Line, and turn to the left at the T-shaped junction on the
route 14 called Chiba Kaido Aveneu, then you soon find a fire department
and turn to the right the corner in front of it. You go straight the road,
you pass through under the elevated line of Sobu Line and go straight on
the road in a shopping area near Ichikawa Station. You turn to the left
at a T-shaped junction before
Edogawa River and go on the road, you find a junior high school and an elementary school
on your left, then next, you find a park, that is
Oosu Bosai Park. The park has a small rose garden on a small hill on the west part of
it.
If you try the Two Days Trip, the first day could be over at Oosu Bosai Park. You go back to the road, you can easily find Ichikawa Station.
Anyway, if you try the One Day Trip, you also go back to the road and go
to west, you pass the schools and you pass the T-shaped junction, so you
go on the road until you find Ichikawabashi Bridge on your left. Anyway,
you could see hundreds of cosmoses blooming on a flood plain under the
west bank of Edogawa River, so they are in
Koiwa Iris Garden.
Let's continue to go on the trip. You go across the bridge and go on the
Chiba Kaido, you turn the right at the third traffic signal of 'Kitakoiwa
Ichome', then you trun to the left at the next signal, and you find a blue
signboard (the picture below) and you turn to the right by the direction
of the signboard.

of Okudo Kaido, and you turn to the right at the next traffic signal so
cross Okudo Kaido Avenue, so you find a school and you turn to the right
at the corner before the school, now you are back to Shinnakagawa River.
You continue to go along the river again. You pass through the elevated
line of JR Sobu Line again and go over Tatsumishinbashi Bridge. You go
into the road on the east bank after the bridge. Anyway, there are thousands
of cosmoses blooming along both side of the flood plains of Shinnakagawa
River in fall.
You go down the bank at the fourth bridge of Shikamotobashi Bridge, and
you go into the left, you go across the first traffic signal, then soon
you turn to the left at the next corner and soon turn to the right again.
You find an arch gate of the rose garden. It is
