Shohakusan Seiganji Temple was built by the venerable Gyoyo Chuzan in
1610. According to some records, in the early Edo period, the area now Shohakusan Seiganji standing was barren land where ghosts
walked around. And the 2nd chief priest of Genshinji Tmeple in Gyotoku
worried about it and told it to the venerable Zenyo Kanjo in Chionin Temple
in Kyoto, and they built Seiganji Temple as a branch temple of Chionin
Temple.
The desolation of the society after the World War II, the 23rd chief priest, the venerable Teiyo Kyoyu made the statue of Shuse Fudoson (a fudo helping people to promote) to pray people's happiness.
